Archie is well known for his portrayal of the human form.  He has thousands of drawings, organized into series, and most Fridays he attends a life drawing session.  At workshops,  students are often instructed to investigate just how little it takes to convey a face (best exemplified in Coptic and Pre-Columbian works).  After  describing a face with the barest of information, a weaver can begin adding  details to convey emotion.

In Archie’s numerous drawing series, the sketches often evolve into images that become increasingly more weaverly, while his weaving style often refers back to the image’s original form as a drawing.
