I have an origional "Muhammad Ali" collage with water color done and signed by Archie Brennen in 1973. Would you have any interest in it before I put it on E-Bay? I can send a picture if you desire but you are likely aware of the series Archie did while still living in Edinburgh.

Please let me know if you would have any interest.

Best,
J Pierpont

Update on DVD production. Archie and Susan have a busy few weeks of teaching scheduled this summer, and the DVD will not be widely available until their travels end, possibly later this summer. I will post something as soon as I know more!

Nancy, I know that there were enough copies for the Wed. Group to purchase as well as students in a recent workshop in GA. Since I know who is producing the DVD I will check and post something here.

Thanks for your interest!

Michael,

My aunt passed away this year and with her most of the family history. I recall that we were related by marriage to Isadora Duncan but didn't remember the details. Just found a photo of August Sundell, my Great Grand father from Finland. He came to the US and married a widow. The daughter's name was Trixie who "married Raymond's son. They had a daughter Audrey living in Eastham making sandals." Are we related?
Would be interested to hear from you.

This is in regard to Michel's most interesting comments. Menalkas married my Mother (Georgia Smith Duncan) in February 1954. She died that same year in November. I lost track of Mel afterwards and have been doing some belated research to catch up. I would love to compare notes, so to speak, with you Michel, if you're so inclined.

A minor correction: The Sandal Shop was in Provincetown...about 13 miles from wellfleet.

Sincerely,

Andrew Smith.

The photograph or Raymond and his wife Penelope includes, not a daughter, but their only child, a boy, named Menalkas.
Menalkas was my uncle; he left the Akademia shortly after his mother died of tuberculosis in a Swiss sanatarium in 1916.
My mother, Ligoa Duncan, was born in 1917; her mother, Aia, was Latvian and became Raymond's business manager and confidante; she died in 1980. She went by the name Aia Bertrand (she had married a French weaver, vegetarian, pacifist, but it was a marriage of convenience--he, so he could be exempt from the draft, she so she could become a French citizen). She was an important member of the expatriate Latvian community. Menalkas lived with his aunt, Penelope's sister, and had a sandal shop in Welfleet, Massachusetts (on Cape Cod).
